GRIDIRON CHARLESTON is operated locally by "Coach Vic" who founded Victory Sports Prep. Victor played youth football since the second grade and into college at Division 1 Colgate University. He hails from Washington DC where he was awarded "All-Met" Honors by the Washington Post in his senior year which included an epic "21-14" victory for the Interstate Athletic Conference Football Championship.

Since his arrival in Charleston, he has coached multiple flag football teams in different leagues across Charleston, year round for the last three years. His teams regularly played each other for their league championships underpinned by Coach Vic's commitment to camaraderie, consistency and an energetic football culture.

While Victor played only tackle football during his career, he is a staunch supporter of flag football since it better prepares both multi-sport athletes and football players with athleticism and knowledge without the rigors of full-contact football.

"I want my players to learn everything I did not learn as a kid. When I was young, I was taught to knock the other guy down. The game of football is far more technical and mental which requires an understanding of coordinated movements and systematic thinking which are more difficult to master with the pressure of continual collision."   

Coach Vic lives in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina  with his wife and two children. His father played at Clemson for legendary coach Frank Howard.
